Viber may not be as popular as Facebook and Twitter, but the company says it has 200 million users worldwide as of May 2013. Launched as a free iPhone app in December 2010, Viber allows exchange of audio, video, and text messages to its users with no charge at all. And because it was designed to be a direct competitor of Skype, the application is already available for users of Android and other OS. Despite not earning revenues, Rakten acquired Viber in February 2014 for a whooping $900 million.

As of posting, Viber is blocked in UAE (United Arab Emirates). There is no official report of the exact date as to when UAE started to block Viber. But according to UAE telecom company Etisalat, Viber has been classified as an unlicensed VOIP service and was banned because it does not comply with local regulations. Viber CEO Talmon Marco says the company is now working hard so the UAE government will lift the ban. For the meantime, you can unblock Viber in UAE using VPN (Virtual Private Network – like
http://vpn-account.com/unblockviberinuae.html ).

But why use VPN instead of other methods? The answer is simple; VPN is very effective and safe in unblocking sites in UAE. VPN users are provided a new IP address, allowing them to browse sites anonymously anywhere in the world. VPNs hide your original IP address and geo-location. In addition, your web traffic is encrypted, and no third party (including hackers) can decrypt it. So, if you will use Viber in UAE, local Internet police will see you as someone outside the country.

UAE’s TRA (Telecom Regulatory Authority) is responsible for blocking sites and is very strict. The government started to implement a new cybercrime law by the end of 2012, and violators may be deported or jailed. This is the main reason why you should be careful in choosing the right VPN service provider. There might be some free VPNs that can provide reliable services, but do you think a free service is good enough to protect you against the harsh rules of UAE? We don’t think so.

But still, not all paid VPNs are the same. Before you choose one, be sure that you understand their limitations. If UAE decided to block your VPN address, your VPN service provider should be able to act fast and immediately assign a new VPN address to you. A good premium VPN is the one that can connect you to Viber and other restricted sites in UAE without any interruption. Finally, pick the one that provides fast technical support and excellent customer service.

Without a doubt, sharing digital contents using torrent is getting more rampant than ever. This is because it is very easy to download torrent files. Instead of a high-bandwidth server, all you need to do is to download a portion of a file and share (seed) it to others via your computer. A network of computers is therefore established and content can be downloaded faster than using FTP servers.

With this principle, anyone can also download pirated materials such as music and movies, which is of course illegal. If the rightful owner of that content sees you, he can file a case against you. This is likely possible especially for torrent sites using open source software where your IP address can easily be detected. For this reason, you can use VPN (Virtual Private Network) when downloading torrent files.

Once you are connected to a VPN server, you will be given a new IP address. This means your real IP address is hidden and you can visit sites anonymously. Your online traffic is encrypted so you can be sure that your identity is well-protected. Ideally, torrent VPN servers do not keep records. So there is no way anyone can trace you, even if you are in a country where Internet rules are very strict.

Although your ISP may see that you connected to a VPN server, no third party can decrypt the data being transferred and your activities will remain unseen. Some VPNs can also immediately provide another IP address once your earlier IP address has been blocked. This is why VPN for torrent (like http://torrent-vpn.com/ ) is absolutely safe and reliable. But of course, not all VPNs are created equal.

Because the law is getting more aggressive in protecting copyrighted materials, many VPN service providers do not allow downloading torrent files. All VPNs promise online security if you are in a Wi-Fi hotspot, but some of them may not provide you fast Internet connection. Free VPNs do not require you to spend money, but you cannot expect good customer service from them.

However, not all paid VPNs can provide high quality services. Some of them offer low service fees; just make sure that they can really give you what you need. Know their limitations. Check for legitimate reviews and conduct speed tests if possible. If they offer free trial, make sure you fully understand their rules and policies. In short, you should always treat a torrent VPN service as an investment.

We all know that Internet censorship is being strictly imposed in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). This is why you might me asking if it is safe to use VPN in that country. The immediate answer is yes, but there are very important things you need to understand before you grab any VPN service you see online. Other methods like proxy sites may also work but they are less secure and not as reliable as VPN.

First of all, Facebook, Skype, and Twitter are allowed in Saudi Arabia. But it does not mean you can freely post about anything you like. Besides not writing anything against Islam, pornography and political criticism are among those online activities that are not permitted in the country. If you insist in doing so, your posts will be removed and your account will possibly be banned forever.

Saudi’s Communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC), which regulates all online activities of everyone staying in the country, banned Viber in June 2013 because they cannot take full control over every activity on that site. So far, the site is still blocked and there is no report as to when the ban will be lifted. But of course, people in Saudi can still access it using a trusted VPN service.

As mentioned earlier, VPN (like http://vpn-account.com ) is safe to use if you are now in Saudi Arabia. This is because VPN hides your actual IP address, and therefore the Saudi Internet police will see as someone logging in from another country. With VPN, your traffic is encrypted, which means your personal data is well-protected from hackers. You will be connected to the VPN server and a different IP address will be issued to you.

In cases where CTIC decided to block you for whatever reason, your VPN service provider shall immediately provide you a new and safer IP address. But not all VPNs are capable of doing so. In fact, some of them do not provide the customer support you always need. This is why paid VPNs are much better than the free ones. Besides, many of them offer high quality services for very affordable fees.

A good premium VPN is also safe for online business transactions in Wi-Fi zones in Saudi. Businesses and companies in the country also trust VPN to protect the privacy of their sensitive information. Whether your employees are using a tablet or smartphone, you can be sure that no third party can intercept their activities. You will not worry even if you allow them to work conveniently in their own homes.

Apple’s iPhone is one of the most best-selling smartphones in the market. With the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs having a very charismatic personality, iPhones have managed to attract millions of people. Thousands of excited Apple fans patiently wait in long lines in Apple stores, every time a new version is released. True enough, iPhones are so phenomenal and the “magic” shall continue for a long time.

But no matter how good Apple engineers and designers are, iPhone users are always prone to identity theft. Just like other brands of smartphones, Apple cannot guarantee the online safety of its subscribers at all times. And because of various types of connectivity available, iPhones are designed to be used anywhere you are. This includes public places such as airports, restaurants, train stations, and others.

In such areas, you are unconsciously allowing intruders to see your online activities. Hackers are getting smarter than ever, and you as an ordinary iPhone user may feel helpless. This is why VPN (Virtual Private Network) was created. With this technology, you can enjoy your iPhone in Wi-Fi zones without worrying about your sensitive information being intercepted by a third party.

With VPN (http://vpn-account.com/iphonevpn.html ), your traffic is encrypted which greatly reduces the chance of being tracked. Therefore, the data you are sending and receiving is well-secured. This is very important especially if you are paying bills via the Internet, buying goods online, or even logging in to social sites as such Facebook and Twitter. In short, VPN for iPhones protects your privacy. So far, VPN is the best way to do that.

In addition, VPN allows you to visit restricted websites even if you are in a country that blocks them. So, if you are China where Internet censorship is being imposed strictly, local cyber-policemen will see you as someone logging in from another country, say the U.S. This is because VPN service providers have the availability to provide you a new IP address, while hiding your real IP address and geo-location.

iPhones support different kinds of security protocols, depending on the capability of the VPN service provider you choose. Free VPNs are good, but the paid services are better. For only a few dollars of investment, you can be sure of faster and more reliable VPN connection. Not to mention enjoying the technical support that you paid for, as well as the excellent customer service you always wanted.

Generally speaking, yes, it is safe to use VPN in China. But it does not mean you can choose any VPN you want. This is because not all VPNs are created equal, and China is very strict when it comes to Internet censorship. Its so-called “The Great Firewall of China (GFC)” is being managed by about 2 million Internet police officials. So far, China has already blocked more than 2600 websites. This includes Facebook, Twitter, Wikipedia, Vimeo, and Google products such as Google+ and Gmail.

There are many reasons why the Chinese government is blocking many websites. Besides gambling and pornography, China does not also allow bloggers and journalists to write anything against its government. And because online activities are being closely monitored, a lot of journalists have been charged and imprisoned for their anti-government articles. On June 3, 2013, Weibo closed the comment option where local netizens used to share their thoughts on the Tiananmen protest.

For these reasons, is VPN really a safe way to unblock sites in China? By using VPN, your IP address and geo location will be hidden. The Chinese Internet police will now see you as someone not logging in from China. But that’s not all; your traffic is also encrypted. This provides you additional security even if you are in Wi-Fi zones where interception from third parties is very easy. And because VPN is also applicable to mobile devices, being online anonymously becomes more convenient.

But again, not all VPNs are the same. Although you can save money from free VPN services, you cannot expect them to be 100% reliable against China’s very strict Internet censorship. On the other hand, paid VPN services (like http://vpn-account.com/bestvpnforchina.html ) offer more secured connection and better customer support. However, avoid those VPNs that offer very low service fees. Note that China is investing good money to block websites, so you need to treat VPN as an investment, too. If you want quality service, you should be willing to pay for it.

Now, what will happen if China still blocks your VPN IP address? Don’t worry, you will not be imprisoned. You are still safe simply because they will not know your real IP address. Your only problem is that you cannot use the same VPN IP address again. But if your VPN service provider is good, you can easily be provided with another VPN IP address. This way, you can be sure that you are really safe while using VPN in China.
